He must be kidding

A Calgary man has pleaded guilty to a charge under the federal Aeronautics Act of endangering a flight by shining a laser into the cockpit of an Air Canada Dash 8 plane last October.

He then did the same thing to the pilot of the Calgary police helicopter that had arrived to investigate the commercial flight's complaint.

The man’s lawyer has argued that probation, or even a conditional discharge, would be appropriate since his client's actions caused no harm.

He must be kidding. Walk into a crowded room with a gun, fire it randomly around the place, hit no one, and get a conditional discharge? Let’s hope not.

The Crown is asking for house arrest. I think they must be in a good mood.
