Able partners with Bell in Calgary

November 17, 2016  By Able Aerospace

Able Aerospace Services has announced it will work with its affiliate, Bell Helicopter, in Calgary to expand its product availability in Canada. During the coming months, Able will build in-country availability on its full line of approved replacement parts (PMA) and dynamic components for exchange for the Bell 206 and Bell 407 to be distributed through the supply centre.

“The process is a win-win for Bell Helicopter operators in Canada,” said Mark Johnston, business development director for Able Aerospace. “It allows customers to continue to order through Able, as they’ve always done, but receive their orders in a fraction of the time through Bell Helicopter’s specialized in-country distribution system.”

Johnston was in attendance at this month’s Helicopter Association of Canada (HAC) Convention and Trade Show, and will continue to share details with customers and prospects as the new distribution channel develops.

“As a new member of the Textron Aviation family, Able is always on the lookout for ways to join our collective forces for the benefit of our customers,” said Gabriel Massey, Able Aerospace Director of Strategy. “Working in partnership with Bell Helicopter’s Calgary experts is this kind of opportunity – a partnership that will make it easier for in-country Bell Helicopter operators to quickly access our cost-saving products and keep their aircraft safely flying.”

Able’s broad capabilities include some of the world’s largest rotable exchange inventories and approved replacement parts (PMAs) for Bell Helicopter aircraft. As an approved Bell Helicopter Service Centre, Able additionally offers more than 10,000 FAA-approved repairs and overhauls, with in-house specialized services ranging from electroplating, chemical processing, machining and grinding to NDT testing, hydraulics and bearings services.

All in-house work is completed by a collaborative staff of mechanics, engineers, DER experts and customer service specialists, from Able’s 200,000-square-foot headquarters located at Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona.
