March 6, 2009 – London, Ont. – ACT – Advanced Composites Training of London, Ont. has announced the completion of two customized composites manufacturing and repair courses for Eurocopter Canada Ltd. of Fort Erie, Ont.
ACT created the Composites Fabricator and the Composite Repair Technician courses referencing Eurocopter’s unique requirements and specific manufacturing processes. Eurocopter was seeking to enhance shop productivity, component quality, improve in-process control and reduce production costs, by providing Eurocopter Composites Technicians with a broader knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing technologies. The ACT customized training courses enabled Eurocopter Technicians to incorporate these improvements directly into current production.
ACT was chosen as Eurocopter’s training provider based upon ACT’s international reputation for delivering the highest standards available in composites training, ACT’s responsiveness to specific customer requirements and a commitment to excellence that is unsurpassed in the industry.
“We witnessed immediate results from our investment in ACT training.” – Bill Fancy – Composites Supervisor, Eurocopter Canada Limited
ACT courses are internationally recognized as meeting and exceeding all standards for Advanced Composite Technician training. With the exponential growth in the application of composite materials in aircraft structures, the demand for knowledgeable manufacturing and maintenance technicians is greater than ever. ACT has achieved great success in providing custom tailored courses for on-site instruction world-wide, with the course curriculum based upon industry created National Occupational Standards.
All fourteen of ACT’s composites courses are approved by the American Federal Aviation Administration ( FAA ) for Inspector Authorization Renewal. This allows ACT to provide training services for the needs of all FAA regulated manufacturing and maintenance organizations.
