Donaldson Aerospace & Defense, a division of the Donaldson Company Inc., received additional supplemental type certificate (STC) approvals for installation of its inlet barrier filter (IBF) system on helicopters in three countries.
Acquired at the request of the helicopters’ original equipment manufacturers, the approvals were received from the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau for the Bell 407, Indonesia’s Ministry of Civil Aviation for the Leonardo AW119, and Ecuador’s Civil Aviation Director General for the AS350.
Donaldson’s IBFs protect engines and help maintain performance by preventing particulates and contaminants, including very small diameter sand/ramp grit and salt spray, from damaging the turbine.
Its systems are currently used by operators worldwide in corporate, law enforcement, military, rescue, firefighting, and utility missions.
