Air ambulance in Brandon, Man.’s future?

September 13, 2011  By The Canadian Press

Sept. 13, 2011, Brandon, Man. - Manitoba Progressive Conservatives are looking to provide more help in the air and on the ground.

Tory Leader Hugh McFadyen says he'll station an air ambulance helicopter in Brandon to serve western Manitoba if he is elected premier Oct. 4.

It would be the province's second medical chopper, joining one based in Winnipeg.

McFadyen is also promising to improve flood-protection measures such as the Shellmouth Dam and the diking system in Brandon.

He also says he would review the province's handling of this year's flooding along the Assiniboine River, which caught many people off guard and forced thousands to evacuate.
