Airbus Helicopters delivers H125 to Slave Lake Helicopters

The new H125 aircraft is the next generation aircraft in the proven Ecureuil family of helicopters. The H125 features a more powerful Turbomeca Ariel 2D turbo shaft engine, a new digital FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control) and is fitted with an engine data recorder.


“The decision to upgrade our existing fleet with the H125 was an easy decision to make” said Mr. George Kelham, owner of Slave Lake Helicopters. “This new helicopter fits in well with our existing fleet which operate extensively in mountainous regions and over larger territories. Our customers rely on us to fly the latest in aircraft technology so we can get the job done no matter what the conditions may be.”

The powerful, high performance H125 is designed to carry out the most demanding missions in the most extreme weather and geographical conditions. Its exceptional lift capability, high endurance, extended range and fast cruise speed make the H125 the leader in its class. This particular model was upgraded with Cargo Pods and Mirrors, Longlining Enlarged Floor Window and Load Meter Relocation capabilities ensuring that this particular aircraft will excel in all utility and forestry missions put before it.

The H125 is a member of the Airbus Helicopter’s rugged and proven Ecureuil family. These aircraft’s have accumulated more than 23 million hours of flight time experience. Some 4,950 Ecureuils Single have been delivered in 110 countries for some 1,600 operators. More than 1,400 H125s are currently in-service worldwide, and are mainly used for high performance missions in “high and hot” conditions.

The H125 outclasses all other single engine helicopters for performance, versatility, maintenance costs, safety and low acquisition. This new H125 aircraft will be based in Slave Lake Alberta and will be utilized for forestry, oil support, tree planting and firefighting missions.
