Aug. 19, 2009 – DART Helicopter Services is pleased to announce that their affiliated partner, AKV Inc. has received Transport Canada approval for their Dual Engine Cycle Counters for all of the BK117 series helicopters.  FAA approval has been previously received. EASA and CASA approvals are pending.

AKV Turbine Engine Cycle Counters are the most affordable engine cycle counters in the industry. The Cycle Counters are valuable in that they allow the operator to obtain the most operating cycle life out of the engine when compared to relying on the pilot to accrue cycles.  The pilot process is very conservative whereas the cycle counter utilizes a much more precise and less conservative process based on the engine manufacturer’s cycle counting algorithm.

The AKV Cycle Counters are designed to comply with the latest manufacturer’s cycle counting requirements for the Honeywell LTS101 powered BK117A thru B2 and Turbomeca Arriel 1 powered BK117C1 and C2 (EC145).
