Alpine Aerotech acquires Canadian Heli Structures Ltd.

Aug. 26, 2013, Kelowna, B.C. - Alpine Aerotech LP is has completed the purchase of the assets and operations of Canadian Heli Structures Ltd. (CHS) in Abbotsford, B.C. 


Alpine Aerotech will operate the CHS business, with the same experienced and qualified CHS people, in its new Abbotsford airport location, but as a division under the Alpine Aerotech name. CHS president, Mike Duck, will continue with Alpine Aerotech in a business development role, to help ensure the value, responsiveness and entrepreneurship that customers have come to expect, continues and grows.

“This acquisition is part of Alpine Aerotech’s strategic growth plans, and gives us a major presence in the Greater Vancouver region, a key center of excellence for aviation and helicopter MRO," said Alpine Aerotech president, Jim Campbell.  “Alpine Aerotech plans to maintain and grow both its Kelowna and Abbotsford facilities, and to fully utilize the best practices from each business location to ensure we continue to provide value, quality and service to all of our customers.”

CHS, a Canadian company founded in 1996, is a Bell Helicopter approved Customer Service Facility (CSF) operating out of a modern, purpose built 30,000 sq. ft. MRO facility at the Abbotsford International Airport in B.C.  CHS specializes in the support of Bell’s light and medium helicopter fleet including major structural repair with Bell approved airframe and tailboom fixtures, dynamic component overhaul, avionics installation and repair, aircraft rewiring, composite repair, aircraft painting and refinishing and parts sales.

Alpine Aerotech is a Bell Helicopter approved Customer Service Facility (CSF) with more than 100 employees and 80,000 sq. ft. of MRO and manufacturing facilities in Kelowna.  In 2009, Alpine Aerotech was designated a Platinum Level CSF by Bell Helicopters.  At that time, it was the only Canadian CSF so recognized and one of only six companies worldwide to achieve this distinction.  Alpine Aerotech has continued to achieve Bell’s Platinum level rating every year since.  In addition to MRO, Alpine Aerotech manufactures more than 60 specialized Bell helicopter products ranging from stainless steel, aluminum and composite airframe parts to specialized mission equipment and maintenance tooling.
