Enstrom certifies Appareo Vision 1000

August 23, 2018  By Helicopters Staff

Enstrom Helicopter Corporation has certified Appareo’s Vision 1000 in the Enstrom 480B turbine helicopter. FAA certification for the Vision 1000 was granted in June 2018 followed by EASA and the Brazilian DAC. Approval is in process with the Chinese CAAC and the CAA of Argentina.

Vision 1000 is described as Appareo’s FAA-certified cockpit recording device that captures attitude data, WAAS GPS, cockpit imaging and ambient audio. “It is a self-contained design that is a perfect fit for the Enstrom 480B,” said Dennis Martin, director of sales and marketing at Enstrom. “The fact that it can capture so much information and it can be installed in a day in new or older aircraft has made it a perfect option for our customers.”

Described as a low-cost option for data recording, Vision 1000 is designed to provide safety and security benefits to all types of Enstrom operators. “The quality and the data that the Vision 1000 can capture supports the goals that Enstrom sets as the safest helicopter,” said Matt Francour, president and CEO, Enstrom.

Founded in 1959, Enstrom Helicopter designs and produces light single-engine helicopters for the global market. Missions include helicopter training, police and wildlife patrol, aerial photography and tours, ag spray and livestock management, and personal transportation.
