1May 8, 2008, Everett, WA — BLR Aerospace has named Airborne Engines as its
Canadian dealer for performance-enhancing FastFin TM and Dual Tailboom
Strakes systems.
“We are happy to welcome Airborne Engines into our dealership
network,” said Dave Marone, BLR vice president, Sales/Marketing.

“They
are well regarded by Canadian operators and add an important dimension
to our North American sales program.”
FAA-certified strakes and FastFin systems are available for a
variety of Bell helicopters, enabling operators to lift more and
achieve better hot and high performance, with dramatically enhanced
stability. Enhanced safety and reduced pilot workload are also
important benefits. FastFin incorporates BLR’s proven Dual Tailboom
Strakes with a vertical fin modification that improves airflow to make
tail rotor management easier, safer, more efficient and more
productive. More than 600 aircraft have flown more than 1 million
flight hours with the BLR Strake and FastFin systems.

Because the products enable significant increases in performance,
they complement Airborne Engines’ overhaul business and support the
needs of the rotorcraft community, according to company President
Dennis Bobick. “The Canadian market is competitive, and operators are
looking for every advantage,” said Bobick. “These product enhancements
can benefit a large community of Bell operators, and we are glad to be
part of that.”

Based in Richmond, B.C., Airborne Engines is the authorized Canadian
repair and overhaul center for Honeywell T53 engines. Bobick suggests
that customers who are upgrading from -13 to -17 engines consider Dual
Tailboom Strakes and FastFin. “If you have more power you need more
control,” Bobick said. “They (Airborne Engines) provide the torque; we
provide the anti-torque,” Marone added.
