Safety is not a “competitive differentiator.” Helicopter operators should not trumpet that they have a better safety record than a competitor, even if they do, because safety in the public consciousness is a collective industry record. Any accident, especially a fatal accident, ripples through the reputation of every operator.
Nov. 6, 2014, Portland, Or. - Erickson Incorporated has announced that the Portland-based company has entered the Ecuadorian market by partnering with Avioandes S. A. and signed a contract with Agip Oil Ecuador.
Oct. 21, 2014, London, U.K. - Five major helicopter operators have officially announced a new industry association – HeliOffshore – for organizations with an interest in working together on safety in offshore helicopter transport. The new association was introduced at a launch event at its offices in London.
Oct. 7, 2014, St. John's - At least some recent construction at the St. John’s International Airport can be credited to the interest of CHC Helicopters Canada in ferrying workers to and from the Newfoundland and Labrador’s offshore oil installations.
July 25, 2014, Norwich, U.K. - Bristow Helicopters has performed the first commercial flight with the new AgustaWestland AW189 super-medium helicopter from its Norwich base.
