Anaheim, Calif., Feb.23, 2009 – BBA Aviation’s Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) company Dallas Airmotive is introducing Quick-Turn 1750 HMI kits for Series II Rolls-Royce Model 250 engines. Using the pre-assembled kits, operators can have their engines returned in five days rather than the typical three weeks, and avoid the time and cost of installing and removing a rental engine.

“For helicopter operators, the key concerns are turn time and price,” said BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul President, Hugh McElroy. “With our Quick-Turn kits we provide a rapid turn time and a value package that answers both concerns.”

The Quick Turn is enabled by kitting the necessary parts and pre-assembling sections for the engine gas producer in order to save valuable time in the HMI (Heavy Maintenance Inspection) process. “By pre-assembling kits, 90% of the parts needed for the HMI are supplied by us, and 10% are from the customer’s engine,” commented McElroy. “This saves the time normally dedicated to inspection, evaluation and repair of the operator’s parts. It incurs a small premium that we feel operators will gladly accept in lieu of the time savings.”

Dallas Airmotive offers the Quick Turn 1750 HMI kits at both its Dayton and Phoenix Regional Turbine Centers. All kits meet the requirements of AD 2005-10-13, AD 2006-13-16 and CEB-A-1375.
