Feb. 24, 2014, La Guardia Airport, N.Y. - FlightSafety International announces the installation of its new Airbus EC135 helicopter simulator in Dallas, Texas. Training is expected to begin in April 2014 following FAA Level D qualification.

“Installing a new Airbus EC135 helicopter simulator in Dallas shows FlightSafety’s commitment and ability to respond quickly to Customer needs,” said Steve Gross, Vice President Sales. “They will appreciate and benefit from the latest advances in technology including FlightSafety’s VITAL 1100 visual system and electric motion and control loading.”

The unprecedented fidelity and levels of detail provided by the VITAL 1100 visual system significantly enhances training. It offers mission-specific imagery with vastly improved scene content, environmental effects, dynamic shadowing, enhanced shading, and a 200 x 60 degree field of view.

The EC135 simulator is equipped with a Garmin avionics suite that includes the Garmin GMX 200 multi-function display and WASS certified Garmin GNS 430W and GNS 530W. It also features the SFIM 2-Axis Autopilot.

FlightSafety’s initial and recurrent training programs for the Airbus EC135 include aircraft systems, emergency and abnormal procedures, as well as human factors and specialty training. Pilots will also benefit from MATRIX, FlightSafety’s Integrated Training System.
