The Unmanned Safety Institute (USI), which focuses on remote pilot safety education, training and certification, today announced a partnership with Helicopter Association International (HAI) to provide unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) training to HAI members.
HAI and USI plan to combine their resources to promote industry connectivity and create workforce development opportunities in the unmanned commercial market. HAI members will have access to USI’s suite of training and industry certifications, including the sUAS Safety Ground School, UAS Flight Safety Endorsement, Visual Line-of-Sight System Operations, FAA Remote Pilot Practice Exam, and Part 107 Study and Field Guide.
HAI embers will also be able to purchase licensing agreements for Corporate Internal Training Programs, including the VLOS Flight Training Curriculum and sUAS Safety Certification Curriculum.
“HAI has been the leader in the helicopter industry for over half a century and recognizes the need to embrace the future of UAS technology,” said Josh Olds, president, USI. “They also recognize that this will require new information and skills which USI can provide. Together our two organizations will continue to lead the unmanned aviation industry by setting safety and professional guidelines and creating exemplary pilots that maintain high standards.”
USI states it provides access to more than 150 instructors and over 7,000 customers around the world. It is approved for professional development credits by industry organizations, endorsed by major aviation insurance providers, and its training programs have been evaluated and recommended for college credit by the American Council on Education.
