Helikopter Air Transport (HeliAir) recently completed its largest technical order to date to help ensure 22 emergency helicopters of the Polish Air Rescue Service, operating as ÖAMTC Air Rescue Service, are fit for round-the-clock operations.

The work over several months included the training of technicians, supply of equipment for the helicopters and delivery of 96 night vision goggles, among other services provided. The HeliAir project team fulfilled all points of the tender ahead of the set deadlines.

“This success is due to the entire HeliAir team, which has taken care of every detail – from functional testing of the night vision goggles, to calibration of the technology and training of the technicians in Warsaw, through to compliance with export control requirements,” said Marco Trefanitz, managing director of ÖAMTC’s air-rescue services.

The activities of HeliAir are now contractually transferred to after-sales duties, which include warranty and spare parts deliveries. With HeliAir, the ÖAMTC Air Rescue Service has its own maintenance facility with European aviation legislation approval at its bases in Innsbruck and Wiener Neustadt. Helicopters and engines from across Europe are serviced and maintained at Innsbruck and Wiener Neustadt.
