Nov. 8, 2007, Alexandria, VA., – Helicopter Foundation International (HFI), an HAI affiliated organization, is now offering more information at the click of a mouse.  The newly remodeled Web site — www.helicopterfoundation.org — brings all the resources needed to keep helicopter enthusiasts up-to-date on the foundation’s latest endeavors.

Founded in 1983, HFI is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of the helicopter industry, as well as educating both present and future generations. One of the ways HFI works towards this goal is by sponsoring educational programs around the country.  Our instructors continue to bring the “On the Road” series to locations across the U.S.  The purpose is to provide those in the industry with an advanced helicopter education, while maintaining a relaxing and comfortable setting where instructors and ‘students’ can interact and learn from one another.  Educational courses include such topics as safety, regulatory compliance, legislative considerations, and economic viability.

HFI also brings education to the forefront by hosting the HFI Job Fair and Mentoring Program at HAI’s HELI-EXPO 2008 in Houston, Texas.  Last year’s event was a huge success with 35 employers and a record setting 900 participants. The Job Fair allowed jobseekers to meet with potential employers to discuss job opportunities in the international helicopter community. The event, which is sponsored by HAI’s Human Resources Committee, is free to those wishing to attend.

Attracting new talent to the industry is also a top priority for HFI.  Currently HFI is sponsoring several scholarships; available to students, Helicopter Maintenance Technicians and Helicopter Pilots.  Scholarships applications and related information can be found on HFI’s Web site,

Don’t forget — HFI continues to encourage anyone with historical helicopter information to send their materials today.  HFI will digitize all historical items, including videos, magazines, photos and other related documents into a searchable database for easy access by students, researchers, and helicopter enthusiasts.  We will then send the originals and a digitized copy back to the submitter. All resources should be sent to HFI, 1635 Prince Street, Alexandria, Virginia, 22314.  Worried about costs?  HFI will pick up the tab for all shipping expenses!

So — check out all HFI has to offer today by going to www.helicopterfoundation.org!  For questions call HFI headquarters at (703) 683-4646.
