Helifab’s S-76 Aft cabin door replacement door hinge

May 21, 2009 – Dart Helicopter Services is pleased to announce that their affiliated partner Helifab has received FAA approval of their Aft Cabin Door Replacement Door Hinge Assemblies. Transport Canada approval is pending.

The aft cabin door hinge assemblies replace the manufactures original hinges and mounts, which permit the doors to open approximately 120 degrees. The emergency jettison release of the door is not affected and functions identically as the original installation.

A dampener connected to the lower hinge holds the door in any desired position. This provides stepless positioning of the door without latching steps and prevents the door from sudden unwanted door movements. A resistance-free area of the dampener allows smooth latching of the door and provides end dampening which prevents swing-back when opened too fast and damage to the fuselage.
