Nov. 30, 2009, Richmond, B.C. – Richmond-based Helijet International has published its convenient and reliable schedule for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games period. While many float plane operators have been reducing their flights, Helijet’s Games-time schedule includes expanded operating hours for scheduled flights between downtown Vancouver, YVR and downtown Victoria, as well as daily charter flights between Vancouver and Whistler.

Helijet continues to be traveller’s most reliable island connection with an expanded flight schedule between downtown Vancouver, Vancouver airport (YVR) and downtown Victoria. Flights will operate earlier in the morning and later into the evening, including before dawn and after dark.

Charter flights from downtown Vancouver to Whistler will be available seven days a week during the morning and late afternoons.

“Helijet has been working closely with Vancouver Olympic Security and the RCMP to ensure we continue to be the fastest and most frequent Island connection for our passengers,” said Jay Minter, Director, Marketing & Product Innovation, Helijet. “In fact, we’re excited about welcoming the world during the Games and providing quick, convenient and seamless service for our regular clients plus new visitors to British Columbia.”

Some changes at Helijet terminals include check-in security screening for all passengers, luggage and cargo shipments.

Helijet recommends passengers arrive at their downtown Vancouver terminal via public transit, on foot or by bike due to traffic restrictions and diversions throughout the downtown core. Helijet’s downtown Vancouver harbour terminal is conveniently located next to Waterfront Station and easily accessible by many forms of transportation.

Customers who prefer to drive should note that vehicle access to the Vancouver harbour terminal
is still available via Main Street only.
