Helijet names Boyle manager of safety

Helijet International has announced the appointment of Dave Boyle, an aviation safety professional with more than 25 years’ experience, as the company’s Manager – Safety.


Boyle will oversee Helijet’s Safety Management System (SMS), the helicopter industry standard that ensures employee and passenger safety is a top operational priority. Dave’s responsibilities will include reviewing/assessing company-wide safety processes, improving development of safety standards, and seeking collaboration towards Risk Assessment analysis and Safety Reporting.

With aviation safety knowledge gained in both commercial aviation and in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), Dave has extensive experience in international flight duties as Captain and Instructor on Sikorsky S-61N and S-76 series aircraft. He also served as the Safety Officer and Base Manager at Canadian Helicopter Corporation.

Dave’s expertise includes introduction and implementation of large scale SMS database and reporting systems, and strengthening of global communications on safety objectives and issues. He has been instrumental in supporting Human Resource matters at global bases, forward planning and coordinating of safety programs, customer relations on safety issues, Flight Data Management (FDM) program development, mentoring and development of Safety & Quality teams, and developing and administering Emergency Preparedness programs.

Dave began his new post with Helijet in mid-February 2018.
