Sept. 23, 2013, Everett, Wa. - The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has certified the BLR Aerospace FastFin Tail Rotor Enhancement and Stability System for installation and flight on all Bell 412 helicopters.  FastFin is already EASA-approved for installation on Bell 204, 205, and 212 helicopters.
Sept. 20, 2013, Toronto - Ornge, Ontario’s provider of air ambulance and related services, announced plans to procure and install a permanent medical interior for its AW139 helicopter fleet, which will further improve care for patients requiring air ambulance transport.
Sept. 18, 2013, Tempe, Az. - StandardAero announced that Russell Ford has been appointed as chief executive officer (CEO) of the company. Ford joins StandardAero from Precision Castparts Corporation, where he recently served as president of Carlton Forge Works and Dickson Test Group of the Forged Products Division. Ford begins his new role on October 15.
Sept. 9, 2013, Fort Worth, Tx. - Bell Helicopter and Lockheed Martin will work as a team on the Bell V-280 Valor, making Lockheed Martin the first of Bell Helicopter’s V-280 program tier one team members. Additional team members will be announced in the coming months.

Sept. 4, 2013, London, U.K. - Power systems and services company Rolls-Royce has concluded the sale of its 50 per cent stake and interest in the RTM322 helicopter engine program to Safran's Turbomeca, for $293 million.
Sept. 4, 2013, Ennetburgen, Sui. - Aerolite has announced it received Transport Canada approval for HEMS interiors for the AW109S and SP models. The interior can be configured with one or two stretchers, up to four attendants in one stretcher configuration and up to two attendants in the two stretcher configuration.
Aug. 28, 2013, Bordes, Fra. - Turbomeca (Safran) has unveiled for the first time the Ardiden 3G engine, installed on a prototype of the Russian helicopter Ka-62 at the MAKS air show. The maiden flight is scheduled for the next few weeks.

Aug. 15, 2013, Stratford, Conn. - Sikorsky Aircraft, a subsidiary of United Technologies, has announced a major research program to develop, test and field systems and software that will improve capability, reliability and safety of flight for autonomous, optionally piloted, and piloted vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft.
Aug. 7, 2013, Moscow, Rus. - More than 200 people from 15 countries have already registered as participants of the 39th European Rotorcraft Forum (ERF 2013). The number continues to grow and it is expected that the forum could attract a total of 250-300 participants.
Aug. 7, 2013, Flushing, N.Y. - FlightSafety International has received approval from the European Aviation Safety Agency for more than 140 of the Part 147 maintenance courses it offers. The approval was granted following a detailed review and evaluation of FlightSafety’s existing courses in accordance with the EASA Training Needs Analysis regulation 1149/2011.
