Latitude showcases end-to-end HFDM system at Heli-Expo

February 25, 2013  By Carey Fredericks

March 5, 2013, Victoria, B.C. - Latitude Technologies will be showcasing its dynamic end-to-end helicopter flight data management (HFDM) system at HELI-EXPO 2013, the world's largest helicopter trade show and exposition, in Las Vegas, March 5-7.

Latitude's HFDM system combines any configuration of the IONode FDM recording and reporting unit with IONode Base Station and IONode Analytics to give helicopter fleet operators a powerful, flexible, and cost-affordable end-to-end HFDM system that will help improve operating efficiencies, reduce maintenance costs, and increase flight safety. The IONode HFDM system is configurable to meet OGP, aerial firefighting, IHST, and other industry compliance standards.
Chief architect of the IONode HFDM system, Brad Head, Latitude Vice President of Technology, explained that the IONode system is not just about collecting and transferring flight data. "Yes, our IONode hardware on the aircraft provides customers with more real-time event processing and data offloading options than any other system on the market. However what really separates our system from the competition is our focus on giving our customers the capability of introducing continuous performance improvement protocols into their flight operations at every business level. The IONode FDM system is a business solution, helping our customers to improve their triple bottom line."
Mark Insley, Latitude President, is very pleased with the company's success in rolling out Latitude's FDM/HFDM system to a growing number of fleet operators who have standardized on a Latitude flight data management solution. "I am in direct contact with our customers, both at the executive level and with installers in the field. The comment I hear over and over again is how capable our FDM systems are in capturing and transferring flight data to our analytics tool set and to analytics service providers with whom we work on behalf of our customers." Insley also observed, "Once their IONode FDM system is installed and flight data begins to stream, customers are quick to begin working with our technical team to further expand and further embed our FDM system into their fleet operation processes. We are delighted with the rate of adoption of the IONode FDM/HFDM system and we look forward to showcasing the system to fleet operators at HELI-EXPO."
