Ledcor completes acquisition of Trinity Helicopters

Feb. 1, 2013, Vancouver - Ledcor Air Limited announced today it has concluded the purchase of Trinity Helicopters Limited, based in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.


"We are pleased to have finalized the acquisition of Trinity Helicopters. Their operations and client-base complements our existing aviation businesses, Summit Air and Arctic Sunwest Charters," said Paul McElligott, President, Ledcor Air Limited. "Subject to regulatory approval, our plan is to join Trinity's vertical lift capabilities with our fixed wing operations to provide a fully integrated passenger and cargo service that will be unique in the North."

Trinity presently operates a diverse fleet of Eurocopter and Bell helicopters including the Eurocopter 350 B3, Bell 407, and Bell Long Ranger and Jet Ranger aircraft.

"We have a talented and dedicated group of pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, and office staff and we are pleased to be joining Ledcor," said Rob Carroll, Trinity Helicopters founder and Ledcor Air's new VP and General Manager. "We look forward to helping Ledcor deliver excellent customer service, and safe and reliable aviation support throughout the North, especially remote passenger and cargo solutions."

Ledcor Air Limited is a subsidiary of the Ledcor Group of Companies, which is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia.  Ledcor owns Summit Air and recently acquired Arctic Sunwest Charters, both also based in Yellowknife.  Combined, these airlines operate over 20 fixed wing aircraft from Turbo Beavers and Twin Otters to Dorniers, Dash 8s and two heavy-lift Buffalo aircraft.
