Lockheed Martin, Textron eyeing Sikorsky Aircraft

Lockheed Martin Corp. and Textron are the finalists to buy Sikorsky Aircraft, the makers of the Black Hawk helicopter, from United Technologies Corp., according to a Reuters report.
In June, Connecticut-based UTC announced it would either sell or spin off Sikorsky, allowing both companies to focus on their core businesses.
Textron, headquartered in Rhode Island, is working with private equity firms to gather cash to bid for Sikorsky, valued at about $8 billion. Textron, worth around $12 billion, is competing against the much larger Lockheed Martin, worth about $60 billion, according to Reuters. | READ MORE
