MD Helicopters outlines supplier agreements to boost parts availability

MD Helicopters increased parts availability for new and currently operating MDH aircraft through multiple supplier agreements worth a total of US$17.4 million. Suppliers with these agreements include L3Harris, Rohde & Schwarz, Kinetic Defense Manufacturing, Yankee Casting, Liquid Measurement Systems, and FN Herstal, with more in process with companies like Moog and Dillon Precision, among others.

“Our first priority as a company is ensuring we have the parts our customers need in stock and ready to send within hours of receiving an order,” said Mario Coracides, Vice President of Global Supply Chain, MD Helicopters. “As part of our company sustainability plan, we have been working these past seven months to re-establish trust with suppliers to build and maintain a strong parts supply.”

Below are the recently signed agreements, as described by MD Helicopters (all dollar amounts in U.S. funds):

L3Harris (Wescam USA)
MD Helicopters established a supplier relationship with L3Harris extending through 2024 with an approximately $5.1 million purchase agreement to supply advanced fully digital and mission specific WESCAM MX-10 turret cameras.

Rohde & Schwarz USA, Inc. (R&S)
MD Helicopters established supplier relationship with R&S until the end of 2024 resulting in an approximately $3.9 million purchase agreement supplying MDH with R&S®M3SR software defined radios for airborne communications.

Kinetic Defense Manufacturing, Inc.
MDH signed a $319,000 purchase agreement with Kinetic Defense that extends through the end of 2024 to supply ballistic protection systems armor kits and ballistic armor installation support.

FN Herstal
MDH signed a contract extension through 2024 for $4.0 million to supply HMP guns and accessories.

Yankee Casting Co. Inc.
MD Helicopters signed a 3-year agreement worth approximately $2.5 million with Yankee Casting to provide metal castings.

Liquid Measurement Systems
MD Helicopters established a long-term relationship with Liquid Measurement Systems through a 5-year agreement worth approximately $1.6 million for lightweight and durable carbon composite fuel probes as well as high-and-low level detection signal conditioners.
