February 10, 2012  By Carey Fredericks

Feb. 10, 2012, Dallas, Tx. - Mecaer Aviation Group is bringing a full-scale mock-up of its new VIP interior for the AgustaWestland AW169 helicopter to this year’s HAI Annual Meeting and Convention in Dallas.

The VIP interior, which is the creation of the MAG Design Studio, was unveiled today at MAG’s booth # 5924.

This new interior was developed with the vision of maximizing passenger comfort, reducing noise levels in all flight conditions and providing a state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system (IFE).

The 6-passenger cabin configuration on display can be quickly re-configured into a 7-passenger version, among a variety of different cabin layouts available to meet customer requirements. Comfort and ergonomics, careful study and positioning of lighting, quality details and superior materials are the leading design features.

The AW169 can also be equipped with the SILENS System, MAG’s proprietary passive lightweight cabin noise and vibration reduction system. The SILENS system is currently certified on the AgustaWestland AW139 helicopter.

The IFEEL, an IFE multi-function system developed by MAG, offers users a fully customized cabin management and entertainment system that incorporates advanced technologies and interfaces with the latest consumer electronic devices. Passenger comfort and in-flight experience are greatly enhanced. The AW169VIP Interior will be certified by 2014.

Armando Sassoli, MAG co-general manager said, “We are extremely proud of this new milestone in the history of our company. It represents a further confirmation of our philosophy of working closely with OEMs from the very beginning of a new project.”

He further added, “After the successes achieved on the AW109, AW139 and, more recently on the EC145 Mercedes-Benz Style and the AW101 VVIP, this is a welcomed addition in our helicopter interior products portfolio. We have continued to position MAG to meet the market demand of the 21st century by investing in new product development and allocating engineering resources. Most importantly, we have a world-class team of professionals all focused on customer satisfaction.”

“Our long history and reputation in helicopter interior completions is the strength with which we have approached this challenging project.’’ said Davide Marucco, head of MAG’s completions and MRO services division. “MAG draws upon its vast experience in helicopter interiors and reputation for quality workmanship to meet the customer’s and OEM’s highest standards. We are convinced that our interiors will certainly support the AgustaWestland team in their marketing efforts to promote the AW169 for VIP use. “

Alessandra Pasqua, head of MAG Design Studio, said: “The luxurious AW169 VIP interior features exquisite materials, refined woods and sophisticated ambient cabin lighting. We try our best to translate customer’s emotions, desires and expectations through an integrated design process. With this AW169 VIP Interior, we believe we have reached this goal.”
