March 22, 2011, Shreveport, La. - Metro Aviation, Inc. has announced an industry first iPad App now available to provide customers with a familiarization and training tool for installed equipment description, functionality and operation, among other uses.

The company plans to include the Eurocopter AS350, EC130, EC135, EC145 and EC145T2 as well as the EC155 model type helicopters as part of the new iPad Apps.  Metro will also provide a secure link to proprietary information, updated and current systems descriptions and user manuals as part of the imaginative offering from the company, all at no cost to its operational and completion customers.

Metro Aviation is one of the largest and most comprehensive helicopter completion facilities in the United States with a dedicated air medical operational fleet of almost 80 aircraft from coast to coast.  Metro was most recently recognized by American Eurocopter as the preferred air medical completion vendor for the new EC145T2.

Additional uses for the interactive and intuitive app will allow for the capability of detailed aircraft systems descriptions, normal and emergency procedures explanation with options for customer specific content.  Users will also have the capability to receive the latest information for controlled documents, new service offerings and new equipment options from Metro Aviation via the company’s website link through the iPad App. Finally, the new App will be eventually linked to Metro’s product support site “www.metroproductsupport.com” to ease maintenance personal procurement of parts and support.  A recent new air medical completion customer plans to use the app for systems familiarization and utilization as well as for initial and recurrent training of medical flight team members.  Metro recently unveiled the new iPad App at the Helicopter Association International (HAI) Heli-Expo held in Orlando, Fla.
