MNR helicopter used to help rescue lost angler
July 5, 2013 By CBC News
July 5, 2013, Rinker Lake, Ont. - A Ministry of Natural Resources fire-fighting helicopter was able to rescue a lost fisherman Thursday near Rinker Lake, which is about 120 kilometres north of Thunder Bay.
Two fishermen reported to provincial FireRangers at Rinker Lake that
they had lost touch with a third man on a river about 30 kilometres
northeast of the lake.
A helicopter was sent with a firefighting crew on board to scour the area where the fishermen had last seen their partner.
When they located him, a FireRanger was lowered to give the man
instructions on how to find his way out. Another FireRanger drove the
other fishermen to meet him.
All were reunited safe and sound, the MNR reports.
