Oct. 30, 2009 – Richmond, BC – Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services, Inc., has been awarded a subcontract from Army Fleet Support at Fort Rucker, Alabama in support of the United States Army TH-67 (Bell 206) Flying Hour Program.

The requisites for this subcontract include the plastic media strip, aircraft inspection and painting of twenty-five TH-67 helicopters operating out of the Fort Rucker Army Airfield.  As an add-on to this subcontract award, Vector also receives approval to complete aircraft structural overhauls on two heavily damaged TH-67 helicopters; all of which will be carried out at Vector’s Andalusia, Alabama repair and overhaul facility.

“Vector is pleased with having been selected by Army Fleet Support to perform this work on their behalf, and that the trust they place in Vector will result in an end product that reflects the superior quality and customer satisfaction that is a hallmark of Vector Aerospace,” says Ronnie Kearns, Vector’s director of business development for military programs.

Kearns explains that Vector Aerospace-Andalusia is a Bell Helicopter-approved repair and overhaul center, and that the company has extensive experience providing helicopter repair and overhaul support to the US Armed Services; including a subcontract that has been in place with L-3 Vertex since 2003 for Aircraft Condition Inspection (ACI) support for US Navy TH-57 helicopters based out of Naval Air Station- Whiting Field, Florida.

“The TH-67 subcontract award is another important win for Vector as we further establish ourselves as a key provider of aviation repair and overhaul services to defense operators,” says John MacDougall, senior vice-president, sales & marketing for Vector Aerospace. “Vector has a long history of supporting defense operators including the US Army and Navy, the Canadian Department of Defense, the UK Ministry of Defense, Foreign Military Sales (FMS) operators, and various international militaries.  To ensure our ongoing ability to support this very important group of operators, a primary area of focus for our company is to continually expand and enhance our helicopter and fixed-wing repair and overhaul capabilities.”
