The National Aviation Museum Society has elected its new executive team with Christopher Terry, a former director general of the museum, becoming president. Terry succeeds Ken Johnston, who retired after many productive years at the museum’s helm.
Joining Terry on the National Aviation Museum Society (NAMS) board are Lochana Ponnambalam (secretary/treasurer), George MacDonald, Jerry Jones, Ted Lennox, Don Buchan and Don Lamont. Stephen Quick, the executive director of the Ingenium Foundation, has also joined the board in a non-voting capacity. Additional Board members will be appointed in due course.
“The Society will continue to play an advocacy and fundraising role in support of the Canada Aviation and Space Museum,” said Terry. “The Society’s contributions in the past have been critical for the growth and development of the Museum. The Society will continue to work collaboratively with the Museum to assure this important institution continues to play a critical role in explaining our aviation and space past and exploring the promise of its future.”
The NAMS was established over 40 years ago to provide advocacy support as required to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum and, in recent years, to work in conjunction with the Ingenium Foundation to raise funds to support the museum’s work.
