DART Helicopter Services announces FAA certification of Round-I-Beam™ Skidtube on civil UH-1 models

Dart has received FAA approval to add certain UH-1 model aircraft to STC SR00563NY for their Round-I-Beam™ Skidtube.  The UH-1 models are those that have been FAA certified per FAR21.25(a)(2) for civil use.

The STC currently lists the following models & manufacturers as approved:

•    UH-1A
•    UH-1B
•    UH-1E
•    UH-1F
•    TH-1F
•    UH-1P
•    UH-1H
•    UH-1L
•    TH-1L

The central I-beam web in DART skidtubes absorbs most of the impact on landing so the tube maintains its structural integrity and, even with the addition of a central web, the weight is comparable to that of conventional skidtubes.  DART Medium Bell skidtubes come complete with full length stainless steel wearplates with tungsten carbide welds that are installed with a protective membrane between the tube and the wearplate, virtually eliminating any galvanic corrosion.
