March 27, 2014
March 28, 2014, Kemp, Tx. - Larson Electronics has announced the release of a 160 watt high intensity LED flood light. The LEDL-160W-1227 flood light offers high output from a compact form factor and is ideal for use in mining applications as well as heavy equipment, hunting, boating, vehicle, military, law enforcement and industrial manufacturing uses.

Larson Electronics new LEDL-160W-1227 flood light produces 20,500 lumens of high intensity light while drawing only 160 watts from a 120 volt electrical system and can illuminate approximately 40,000 square feet of space. Twenty four single LEDs are arranged in rows and paired with high purity optics to produce a floodlight beam spread to provide more light over a larger area nearer the fixture. The low amp draw, 50,000 hour service life, and 120-277 volt AC compatibility provides operators with a rugged and powerful LED alternative to 1000 watt halogen lamps that uses little power and can withstand rugged use and abusive conditions.

These LED light bars are USCG certified, IP67 waterproof, sealed against intrusion by dust and dirt, and very ruggedly constructed to withstand the most demanding mining environments, conditions and applications. These units can withstand rapid temperature changes of -40°C to 80°C. The housings are formed from extruded aluminum and the lenses are unbreakable polycarbonate. Each unit is equipped with an adjustable u-bracket trunnion mount, but is also offered with a knuckle style mounting bracket with ¾” NPT that allows the light to be adjusted through 360° vertical movement. These LED lights are recommended for use in applications where a lot of vibration, dust, dirt, dampness, and abusive working conditions are encountered.

“The new LEDL-160W-1227 LED flood lights are ideal replacements for fragile and hot running 1,000 watt halogen lamps,” said Rob Bresnahan with larsonelectronics.com. “They offer a small profile, low power requirements and are more durable than that of a halogen or HID unit.”
