Sagem expands FDM solutions to all Bell platforms
March 3, 2015, Orlando, Fla. - Sagem (part of Safran) is calling on its 25 years of expertise in flight data analysis to offer its proven and state-of-the-art safety tools – Analysis Ground Station (AGS) and Cassiopée Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) services - to every Bell Helicopter commercial platform currently in production.
These solutions are designed to support investigation, identify unsafe trends and find value in flight data, which allows operators to improve the safety and efficiency of their operations.
Sagem’s AGS and Cassiopée FDM are the result of 25 years of leadership in flight data analysis solutions for helicopter operators around the world. Today, major rotary wing aircraft operators worldwide use these solutions to achieve excellence in flight data analysis and to exceed regulatory requirements related to Safety Management Systems and Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA, also known as Flight Data Monitoring). More specifically, Sagem developed the dedicated algorithms to analyze the data coming from the flight data recording equipment installed on aircraft while taking into account the specificities of each helicopter operator’s operations (SOP or Standard Operating Procedures). Based on its experience with the product and customer feedback, Sagem provides exclusive features to help the aircraft achieve overall safety improvements through risk identification and corrective action follow-up. Sagem’s Analysis Ground Station (AGS) is an in-house software solution used by helicopter operators. It is known to be one of the most powerful and flexible solution available to decode any type of flight data. Its user-programmable event detection procedures allows operators to reach an unprecedented level of customization, while its automatic features allow the user to focus on the information they need to improve flight safety, maintenance efficiency, fuel consumption and operations efficiency. The Cassiopée FDM service is the out-sourced alternative to AGS. Dedicated to helicopter operators that wish to rely on Sagem experts to create the algorithms and event detection procedures Cassiopée FDM – like its in-house counterpart, AGS – is fully customizable to the specificities of the user’s operations. The user has access to the results of the flight data analysis through an interactive web-interface, accessible from any internet connected computer at any time. The flight data is sent through a secured internet connection to Sagem datacenter where experts oversee a highly automated analysis process that generates the information the operator needs. The experts also guarantee the quality and reliability of the results communicated to the end-users, and can be reached 24/7 to support the user in their analyses.
