First and foremost are HFI’s Mentoring Panels. These panels are led by industry experts who apply their knowledge to a panel’s specific topic and take questions from the audience. Additionally, anyone in attendance at the panels may submit questions to any panel member, via HFI, throughout the year. This means that panel attendees can continue to receive guidance and advice from some of the industry’s top professionals all year long!
The three panels will consist of the Helicopter Pilots Panel, which will focus on issues for soon-to-be and new pilots; the Maintenance Technician Mentoring Panel, which will address some of the questions posed by those just getting into the maintenance side of the industry; and the Industry Outreach to Students Panel, where students are given information and advice from rotorcraft industry experts about what students can do and what students should avoid doing to make themselves more marketable—thereby improving their prospects for finding a job and advancing in the industry. The panels will take place on Sun., Feb. 12, 2012.
On the same day the Mentoring Panels are being conducted is the all important HAI Job Fair. Several dozen companies will be on hand with information about current job openings. Students will be able to hand out resumes, discuss how best to handle themselves in interviews, and how to be effective in their job hunt. The annual Job Fair is the perfect place for recruiters and job seekers to match needs with skills and to discuss opportunities within the international helicopter community.
