DART announces approval of EC130 air vent kits

December 3, 2012  By Carey Fredericks

Dec. 3, 2012, Hawkesbury, Ont. - DART Helicopter Services is pleased to announce FAA Approval of their Fresh Air Vent Kits for EC130 model helicopters. EASA approval is already underway and is expected to be received by end of fourth quarter. Transport Canada approval is expected first quarter of 2013.

Improve your air ventilation with DART’s Fresh Air Vent Kit.  This new product from DART provides a lightweight, low-cost and innovative solution to the ventilation problem common to EC130’s.

The EC130 Fresh Air Vent provides an auxiliary means of circulating fresh air in the cabin.  The installation modifies the chin window to add a vent that also may be tied into the existing air conditioning system vents.  The vent can be opened or closed using an electric switch mounted on the instrument panel and provides for auxiliary air flow during normal operation or extra circulation in the case of an air conditioning system failure.  There are two primary kit options. The air can be directed into the cabin through a distribution duct at the chin window or a second configuration is available that adds vents to the instrument panel that are fed directly by the Fresh Air Vent.

Features:

  • Lightweight
  • Low Cost Option
  • Allows the pilot to control the rate of flow in small increments
  • Switch mounted on the instrument panel allows easy access to air control
