February 25, 2013  By Carey Fredericks

March 1, 2013, Las Vegas, Nv. - Integrated Microwave Technologies, LLC (IMT) introduces its Mobile Viewer-BC Dual-Diversity COFDM Briefcase Receiver/Monitor at HELI-EXPO 2013 (Booth C3916).

The Mobile Viewer-BC is a ruggedized COFDM (C-COFDM M-Mobile D-Diversity R-Receiver), DVB-T-compliant, dual-diversity receiver/monitor in a custom-designed portable briefcase, uniquely engineered for optimal carrying comfort, maximum storage and equipment protection. The briefcase was designed by IMT’s sister company Petrol Bags™, a leading producer of professional carrying bags, protective cases and accessories for HD to DV cameras, lighting, audio, support and other production equipment.

“We are excited to present the Mobile Viewer-BC to attendees at HELI-EXPO 2013,” says IMT Divisional Chief Executive Stephen Shpock. “The Mobile Viewer-BC allows us to provide a high-quality COFDM receiver/monitor that is conveniently housed in a portable briefcase for government, law enforcement, public security monitoring and covert surveillance, and security applications.”

IMT’s handheld receiver/monitor offers exceptional RF performance and durability, combined with true ease of operation and superb H.264 decoding as well as MPEG-2 auto-detect decoding. The unit displays received video images on a built-in, eight-inch, high-brightness LCD display with an easy-to-use menu-driven interface. The Mobile Viewer-BC is also available with AES decryption capabilities for the upmost security in preventing unauthorized viewing from decoding or eavesdropping.

The unit includes a wide array of video input and output formats, including ASI and HD/SD SDI. The Mobile Viewer-BC can send video over Ethernet to remote software or hardware decoders, allowing multiple remote viewers to monitor the same video simultaneously. Mobile Viewer-BC also features an Ethernet port for streaming video over IP to local and remote decoders. Its spectrum viewer feature can be used to monitor for the best available clear channel and potential interference issues.

The unit is powered through an internal rechargeable battery. With power consumption of less than 15W, the unit’s battery lasts an unprecedented four hours. The internal battery is rechargeable within the unit and can be removed and replaced.

The ultra-lightweight briefcase is optimally designed to transport the Mobile Viewer-BC comfortably and securely, and keep it safe from vibration and shock as its contents are cradled and cushioned by multiple layers of densely padded fabric. The briefcase interior also offers removable internal dividers for custom configuration, which keeps the components organized and accessible in field tactical operations. The bag’s flap opens envelope-style into a sturdy hood that aids shading and viewing. Petrol Bags’ proprietary sliding pipe system (SPS) binding straps secure the monitor and keep it firmly, and safely, in place. An adjustable rear backing leg can also be used to position the monitor at just the right viewing angle.
