tonycosimanoJuly 11, 2008, Fort Lauderdale, FL – Aero Toy Store has named rotary aircraft specialist Tony Cosimano director of helicopter operations for the company.

Prior to joining Aero Toy Store,
Cosimano served 13 years as chief helicopter pilot and assistant
director of corporate aviation for AIG.

“Tony brings a wealth of expertise to Aero Toy Store as we are expanding our position in the global market with the acquisition of more than 20 new rotary aircraft by 2010,” said President and CEO Morris Shirazi. “He already has contributed to the interior and avionics completion program for an AgustaWestland AW 139 that produced the most advanced, quietest helicopter in its class.”

Cosimano was integrally involved in start-up helicopter operations at AIG, as well as with Metromedia, for whom he was chief helicopter pilot from 1987 to 1994, and Envirogas, Inc., where he was director and chief pilot between 1980 and 1987.  At each company, he was responsible for developing corporate configured aircraft interiors and avionics suites.  Cosimano also was president of his own helicopter company, DECAIR, from 1969 until 1978.

Cosimano’s expertise took root in 1962 when he entered the U.S. Army Flight School.  Following graduation, he served as an Army helicopter pilot from 1963 to 1966, including a tour of duty in Vietnam.  Upon leaving the military, he worked as northeast regional manager and pilot for Chesapeake & Potomac Airways before establishing DECAIR.
