AHS Forum 65 Call for Papers

callforpapersIt’s that time of the year again and it seems to come earlier and earlier. I was told recently that Bell Helicopter Textron Canada has an internal company submittal date for Forum abstracts on July 18th.

It’s that time of the year again
and it seems to come earlier and earlier. I was told recently that Bell
Helicopter Textron Canada has an internal company submittal date for
Forum abstracts on July 18th. The Fort Worth, Texas facility has a date
only a little later. With that spur under our saddle we figured we
needed to get the 65th Annual Forum and Technology Display Call for
Papers out to you in a hurry. Attached please find the document and
note that it calls for an abstract deadline of Tuesday, September 30,
2008. Abstracts need to be submitted to the Mira web site found at
http://www.miracd.com/AHS2009 .

This important event will take place May 27 – 29, 2009 in Grapevine
Texas at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Conference Center. We hope you
will join us there as we continue “Galloping towards New Vertical
Flight Advancements.” Dr. Farhan Gandhi from Penn State is the Forum 65
Technical Chair and he can be reached by email at fgandhi@engr.psu.edu
or by telephone at (814) 865-1164. The Deputy Forum 65 Technical Chair
is Dr. Ashish Bagai, Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. and he can be contacted at

Abstracts will be accepted in a variety of technical disciplines
including: Acoustics; Advanced Vertical Flight; Aerodynamics; Aircraft
Design; Avionics & Systems; Crash Safety; Crew Stations & Human
Factors; Dynamics; Flight Simulation; Handling Qualities; HUMS;
History; Integrated Manufacturing Process & Control Technology;
Operations; Product Support; Propulsion; Structures & Materials,
Systems Engineering; Test & Evaluation and Uninhabited VTOL
Aircraft & Rotorcraft. Please review this document carefully and we
urge you to send in your abstracts when the site is up. (It hasn’t been
activated as yet but it will be soon).

Other important dates include Friday, November 14, 2008 when authors
will be notified of their paper selection and Wednesday, March 4, 2009
when final papers must be submitted electronically to this site.

We hope you will participate in this highly respected conference that
brings together the leading experts in the world in vertical flight
technology. It promises to be an outstanding venue and an interesting
meeting.

Also please note that abstracts are due July 29, 2008 for the Unmanned
Rotorcraft Systems Conference that will be held in Scottsdale, Arizona,
January 20 – 22, 2009. Please send your abstract in this third
important meeting on Unmanned Rotorcraft Systems Conference to Dr. Ram
