Curti to Unveil Zefhir at German Show

April 12, 2018  By Helicopters Staff

Curti Aerospace on April 18 at the Aero Friedrichshafen show in Germany will unveil its new Zefhir helicopter. The Italian company has primarily been making mechanical components for the defense and aeronautic industries for more than 40 years.

The Zefhir is a two-seater helicopter featuring a turbine engine.

Curti is well known for its specialization in the TIG and Resistance welding, as well as in the welding of ballistic steel. It has a long track record in the design and manufacture of equipment for the production of parts and assemblies for helicopters, trainer aircraft and vehicles for transporting troops and heavy artillery.

In 2016, Curti’s Aerospace division first unveiled the public design of its Zefhir helicopter with the goal of creating a vehicle for small and medium enterprises, for both recreational and commercial training purposes.

The Zefhir is a two-seater helicopter featuring a turbine engine, which the company explains to provide a more powerful engine within a better-designed light helicopter.

Gonzo Aviation reports the Zefhir was developed in cooperation with ProFly (a design of the ballistic rescue system) and PBS Velka Bites, a light turbine manufacturer based in the Czech Republic.
