dartJuly 29, 2008 – Dart Helicopter Services Announces FAA approval of DART’s Automatic Door Opener for Bell 204/205/212/214/412 model aircraft.

DART Helicopter Services has announced that their affiliated partner DART Aerospace Ltd., has received FAA approval for their Automatic Door Opener for Medium Bell aircraft. Transport Canada and EASA approvals have already been issued.

The DART Automatic Door Opener may be installed on either the pilot and co-pilot doors in order to prevent the doors from swinging closed as crew enter and exit the aircraft.  Additionally, the reliable gas spring also stops the door from swinging past its normal open position thereby damaging the hinges.  Jettison capability of the door is not affected by the installation of the DART Automatic Door Opener.

“A persistent complaint by crew and maintenance personnel has been that these doors won’t stay open and that they damage often.  The Automatic Door Opener is designed to address both problems at once.  Also, the DART V-Block Door Support Kit is another maintenance solution that helps to prolong the life of pilot and co-pilot doors.”  Bill Beckett, General Manager, DART Aerospace Ltd.
