Genaire expands fuel cell repair capabilities to Bell 412 and 214

Genaire Limited of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, has expanded its fuel cell repair capabilities to now include Bell Helicopters models 412 and 214. The company has been servicing tanks for military and civilian customers for more than 50 years.
Genaire explains, based on the level of responsibility needed to care for and maintain an aircraft’s fuel cell, it has developed proprietary testing methods allowing its technicians to repair all variations of bladder type tanks, including self-sealing and crash resistant.
Taking a full-service approach, Genaire explains it does not just repair leaks, but also examines and tests the entire fuel cell to address any porous or problem areas, even if they are not yet leaking.
All repairs are carried out by Genaire’s certified Fuel Cell Technicians using heat, pressure, and adhesive to bond new fabric to the fuel cell following repair and overhaul procedures set out by fuel cell manufacturers such as Amfuel, Engineered Fabric, Firestone, Goodyear, Uniroyal and by the Canadian Department of National Defence CFTO’s and U.S. Naval Air Command Repair and Technical Fuel Cell Repair Manuals.
Genaire explains its facility is climate controlled with a modern air make-up system, where the company not only repairs fuel cells, but also warehouses them for both military and civilian customers. The facility is subject to the Department of National Defence Controlled Goods Program under Group 5, subgroup 1001.
The facility’s storage, explains Genaire, allows for access to serviceable fuel cells at a moment’s notice. The company also provides an ongoing maintenance program for warehoused tanks that has them checked yearly and properly maintained.
