Sudbury EMS pilots celebrate 35 years of excellence

August 11, 2016  By Matt Nicholls

Ontario's EMS helicopter pilots have been assisting Ontario residents in need for decades, and to celebrate 35 years of EMS excellence, the Sudbury EMS community gathered to mark this important milestone.

Pilots, paramedics and administrative staff from both Canadian Helicopters and ORNGE gathered in Sudbury to mark the occasion, and plenty of laughter, stories and fond memories were shared by all.

“This truly is a special occasion, EMS has such a rich history in this province,” noted Canadian Helicopter’s vice president and general manager Rob Blakely. “It’s important to mark that accomplishment and honour the dedicated men and women who have spent a lifetime helping others.”

Several long-standing pilots made the trek to the event, including Greg Fleming, who is celebrating his 35th year of continuous service as an EMS pilot. Fleming is just one example of the dedicated individuals who have helped change the lives of so many people in this province.
