 | Cyclone program experiences further delays
The Canadian military has not received its first fully operational Cyclone maritime helicopter for training purposes, months after Defence Minister Peter MacKay said it would get it in the summer. In May, MacKay announced that Canadian Forces air crew could expect to have their first interim CH-148 Cyclone for training purposes by the end of the summer.

 | Union head calls for more offshore helicopters
A union representing offshore oil workers in Newfoundland and Labrador is calling for a larger fleet of better
equipped helicopters. The Communications, Energy and Paperworkers union represents workers on the Terra Nova offshore production vessel. Local president Brian Murphy told a public inquiry into the new Hebron offshore oil project that more helicopters would help ease flight backlogs.

 | Stars set for lift off in Saskatchewan
STARS is breaking borders and taking flight in Saskatchewan. The helicopter air ambulance will begin providing services to Saskatchewan in 2012, developing bases in Regina and Saskatoon. STARS made a public presentation to health-care workers, first responders and firefighters in Broadview on Nov. 10 to explain the new service.

 | Cougar gets out of court settlement with Sikorsky
A Newfoundland-based helicopter operator that sued Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. after a fatal helicopter crash is
confirming it has reached an out-of-court settlement with the American company. Cougar Helicopters and eight insurance companies had filed a lawsuit against Sikorsky, alleging negligence and misrepresentation.

 | Prince William plays key role in RAF SAR rescue
Two Russian seamen rescued after their ship sank off the Gwynedd coast have thanked their rescuers. Roman Savin, 26, and Vitaliy Karpenko, 48, were airlifted to safety by an RAF helicopter co-piloted by the Duke of Cambridge in the early hours of Sunday. They told BBC Wales they were picked up after being swept off the deck as the MV Swanland broke up in high seas.
