Devastating fire leaves CHL employee homeless
Christmas is a time for giving to those in need and Canadian Helicopters Ltd. is doing just that to help one of its own. On Dec. 2, a fire destroyed the home of Stephanie Bernier, Canadian Helicopters’ assistant base co-ordinator-Sept. Iles, Que. It left Bernier, her three-year-old twins and her eight-year-old homeless. Fortunately, the home was insured, but her situation during the holiday season is anything but ideal.

442 Squadron captures 2011 Cormorant Trophy

Construction begins on new STARS base STARS
Regina is one step closer to having helicopter air ambulance service. The base for the STARS medical transport service located at the Regina International Airport was unveiled on Tuesday. An existing hangar, will be converted to a space for two helicopters, aircraft engineering equipment and maintenance activity, medical and aviation crew training, and staging areas.

FAA approves type design for PW-210S in Sikorsky S-76D
Sikorsky has achieved another significant milestone in its S-76D helicopter program as the Federal Aviation Administration recently certified the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW-210S engines that will be installed in Sikorsky’s new S-76D helicopter.
