The death of a Labrador boy has united Newfoundland and Labrador politicians of all stripes to push for better search and rescue services. Premier Kathy Dunderdale's Tory government backed an amended Liberal resolution Wednesday calling for improved federal emergency response.

Ornge helicopters unsafe
Ontario's Opposition says pilots, paramedics and patients should all be worried about the safety of helicopters used by Ornge, the province's air ambulance system. Progressive Conservative transport critic Frank Klees says the 12 AgustaWestland helicopters Ontario purchased for $144 million have problems with tail rotors falling off.

Dramatic rescue mission plucks injured loggers from remote site
Two Vancouver Island loggers on a rigging crew suffered life threatening injuries after an accident deep in the back country. Just after 11:30 last Monday morning, BC Ambulance launched its rescue helicopter to reach the logging zone not accessible by ground.
