Jan. 3, 2008 – The
Board of Directors of Northstar Aerospace, Inc. has announced the
appointment of Michael J. Tkach as interim President and Chief
Executive Officer effective January 1, 2008.
Tkach, who joined
the company’s Board of Directors as non-executive director in November,
2007, replaces Mark Emery, former President and Chief Executive
Officer, who resigned recently to take a senior role with The Jordan
Company, a private equity firm.
Donald Jackson continues as
Executive Chairman of Northstar. Harry Schmink, President, Gears and
Transmissions, John Maris, President, D-Velco Manufacturing and Craig
Yuen, Chief Financial Officer, continue in their roles reporting to
Tkach.
Prior to joining Northstar, Tkach was responsible for
all rotorcraft systems programs and supporting functional activities as
Vice President and General Manager, Boeing Rotorcraft Systems, a
division of the Precision Engagement and Mobility Systems business unit
with facilities in Philadelphia, PA and Mesa, AZ. Rotorcraft programs
included the AH-64D apache Longbow, the CH-47F/MH-47G Chinook, the
MV-22/CV-22 Osprey and Advanced Rotorcraft Systems, a division of
Boeing Phantom Works. He retired from Boeing earlier this year.
Mr.
Tkach spent 11 years in the U.S. Navy as a carrier and test pilot. He
is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the University of Southern
California where he earned a Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering.

chief executive and, ultimately, in selecting the best person for this
critical role.”
