The Coast Guard helicopter pilot was not only born in Britain, his grandfather was on the staff at Balmoral Castle, where he finished the royal furniture to a mirror sheen, and once scolded a future Queen Elizabeth.
And his father, a veteran of the same Royal Navy that Sir John Franklin and his 128 men were serving when they perished in the Arctic, became the coxswain on the royal launch when a future Prince Philip was courting Princess Elizabeth in Malta in the 1940s. | READ MORE
