General Dynamics wins CH-147F support deal

Sept. 26, 2012, Ottawa - General Dynamics Canada has won a contract from Boeing to provide engineering support services on the CH-147F Chinook in-service support program.


The contract is in addition to the maintenance training suite/contractor maintenance support package awarded to General Dynamics Canada in July.

Under the CH-147F engineering support services program, General Dynamics Canada will work with Boeing on projects that include reliability, availability and maintainability support; systems and support engineering; integrated logistics; and structural integrity engineering services.

On the maintenance training suite/contractor maintenance support package awarded in July, the company will provide materials, services and program management in addition to other support for the maintenance training suite. It will also support Boeing in the transition of the maintenance training device from Boeing’s facility to the training centre in Petawawa.

“We are pleased to have been selected once again by Boeing for in-service support to the Canadian CH-147F Chinook,” said David Ibbetson, vice president and general manager, General Dynamics Canada. “This program will add to our current experience in supporting Canadian military platforms and provide value to our customer through the introduction and sustainment of the Chinook fleet.”

Life-cycle support of the CH-147F will be delivered through a long-term performance based logistics (PBL) program that includes full system logistics and training services.
