Optima Aero, based just outside of Montreal in Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil, Québec, announced it is now a Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Organization.
With its new AMO designation, Optima Aero’s MRO capabilities include clean, test, repair, overhaul and certification of Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T, PT6B, PT6C and PW200 series engine components and accessories.
The company was founded in 2010 by Toby Gauld with a team of other Pratt & Whitney Canada experts, initially focusing on used serviceable and overhauled parts for PT6T gas turbine helicopter engines. Soon after, Optima Aero added new engine models to its portfolio, such as the PT6B, PT6C and PW200.
The company provides a range of engine asset management solutions with services like Event Management Financing, Power by the hour [PBH] maintenance, and a helicopter engine sale and leaseback program to focus on capital efficiency, cost control and mission readiness.
