RMCI Inc. on December 3 introduced its next-generation Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) for the UH-1 sector. The company’s Expandable Rotorcraft Diagnostic System (XRDS) is designed to provide a high quality of safety and improved aircraft availability, as well as operational cost reductions.
“The XRDS is extremely lightweight and currently installed on 14 different types of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft,” said RMCI CEO Kenneth Speaks. “RMCI is pleased to contribute to the UH1 industry, their safety and economic prosperity.”
RMCI explains its XRDS enables flight data monitoring for Flight Operations Quality Assurance, or FOQA; provides comprehensive mechanical diagnostics of the entire drivetrain of the aircraft; and supports maintenance functions such as engine vibration checks and rotor track and balance.
RMCI notes XRDS accurately detects emerging problems well in advance to prevent mission interruption, collateral damage of components, and other possible incidents.
RMCI has now supported HUMS for more than 3,000 helicopters.
