Feb. 19, 2009 – Anaheim, CA – Sagem Avionics, Inc. (SAFRAN Group) is exhibiting at Heli-Expo 2009 in Anaheim, California February 22-24 2009. The show is a great opportunity for helicopter operators interested in discovering or getting more information about the company’s products. The company is showcasing its wide range of avionic solutions including Auto Pilot systems, Attitude and Heading Reference Systems, and Flight Data Management. Sagem’s Integrated Cockpit Display System (ICDS) will be featured on 13 aircrafts both on the company’s and partners’ booths and statics.

The company’s strong experience in the avionics industry with its Auto Pilot and Attitude and Heading Reference System allows it to cater to various platforms from the light Eurocopter EC 120 to the heavy Sikorsky S64. These include major OEM programs on some of the most popular aircrafts such as the Eurocopter EC 135, EC 145, EC 155, EC 225; Bell 429 flight control actuators and multiple airframes via Supplemental Type Certificate.

To complement its strong avionic capabilities, Sagem also provides Flight Data Management services such as a Helicopter Operations Monitoring Program (HOMP) and Helicopter Flight Operation Quality Assurance (H-FOQA) which capture and analyze data generated by the aircraft. Helicopter Operators are able to find better ways to improve operational flight safety by using these services. A demonstration of these services will be available for viewing at Sagem’s booth #2347.

In order to best serve the needs of helicopter operators, Sagem continuously strives to offer comprehensive solutions. This year, Sagem is proud to introduce three recently Federal Aviation Association certified ICDS helicopter applications: the Robinson R44 (shown at Los Angeles Helicopter and IFR Avionics static #40), the Sikorsky S-61 displayed at Carson Helicopters Services static #25 and the amendment of the existing Eurocopter AS 350 Supplemental Type Certificate (held by Eagle Helicopters of Spokane, WA), which now includes the EC 130B4 Helicopter. These demonstrate the company’s ability to develop a wide range of solutions from light to heavy helicopters. The Robinson R44 solution includes two Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display 8-inch displays mounted in portrait mode including Primary Flight Display (PFD), Engine Instruments and other Multifunction Display (MFD) system functions. The Sikorsky S-61 solution includes five AMLCD 10-inch displays (two PFD and three MFD) and one AMLCD 6-inch display for Caution/Advisory System and Water Tank Information which is critical information to the S-61 application. The Eurocopter EC 130B4 solution includes two AMLCD 8-inch displays (PFD and MFD).

There is no better example of Sagem’s capability to meet specific needs in the helicopter world than the tailored solutions created for the law enforcement community. Two Los Angeles Police Department Eurocopter AS350B2 helicopters will be displayed, one at Sagem Booth #2347 and the second located at the American Eurocopter booth #2754. Another Los Angeles Police Department aircraft, a Bell 206, will be shown on Sagem static #49.  In addition a Los Angeles City Fire Department Air Operations’ Bell 206 will be on display at the Rotorcraft Support/AeroComputers’ static #52.

Other helicopter ICDS applications will be available for viewing during the show, including:
·         Bell 407 owned by Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services North America at Sagem’s  booth #2347
·         Bell 407 privately owned at United Rotorcraft Solutions, L.L.C. booth #2964.
